Al-Anbar University, under the direct direction of the University President Dr. Khaled Batal, organized a national campaign to support the nomination of Professor Saleh Al-Hasnawi as Director-General of the UNESCO Education, Science and Culture Organization, in competition with nine candidates from different countries. This is the first nomination of an Iraqi academic figure to fill the position globally, and this came after the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Abdul Razzaq al-Issa respected all universities to support the nomination of Dr. Hasnawi to UNESCO after his knowledge of the subject published in the journal Zaman, Hasnawi held many government positions as well as a course in the Iraqi academic institutions. The President of the University referred to the support of Hasnawi as a national duty to raise the name of Iraq in the international forums and put it in the right place which he deserves, praising the scientific achievements of Hasnawi and wishing him success and success in this forum.
