A new generation of clinical pharmacists has emerged, directing their attention towards patients, as the need was and still is urgent for people with sufficient qualifications and knowledge of the therapeutic use of medicine and its effect. A pharmacist must be sufficiently familiar with diseases and pathophysiology to contribute with the medical team in patient care in terms of optimal use of medicines, health promotion and disease prevention in order to meet health challenges and raise the efficiency of comprehensive pharmacy care services.
