The research centers in the developed world occupy an important and fundamental position for the advancement of peoples. Most state institutions rely on them to provide studies, reports and consultations on many scientific, economic, social, political, security, military and cultural issues. The establishment of scientific research centers is linked to the scientific revolution which was one of the products of the modern industrial revolution, while the centers were integrated in the beginning of their inception and so far in the centers of scientific institutions and universities. The Renewable Energy Research Center, which was established at University of Anbar on the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, is a research center specialized in the field of renewable energy. The idea of developing the center began with the creation of a research unit in 2009 and then as the center in 2012 because of its research capabilities and advanced laboratory equipment. We plan to become a leading institution in the science and engineering of renewable energy and provide the basis for innovation in the field of basic technologies for energy efficient and low cost alternatives.
