Department of geography

Section was established in the academic year 1989-1990

The vision and mission of the department:

• preparation of cadres specialized geographic and able to understand environmental problems.

• enable the student to know the nature of the phenomenon in terms of geographical characteristics and spatial variability and construed in accordance with spatial relations with other geographical phenomena.

• enable the student to understand the natural materials and human and how to exploit the optimum and efficient.

• Provide scientific skills for the student to enable him to draw and read and the representation of maps and aerial photographs and satellite technologies (GIS and remote sensing systems) and to serve the geographical studies.

• openness of geographical thought for students by understanding the new changes in the political map of the world and its relationship with the Arab world and our nation Aziz.

 Goals Section:

Department of Geography aims to achieve a number of general and specific objectives, it is general goals foster a spirit of scientific research on which to build a society capable of dealing with the environment correctly and properly and within the specific goals:

* Preparation specialized in different geographic branches that take it upon themselves to teach this science in middle and high school and junior high school scientific personnel.

* Rehabilitation of students and enable them to move up the scientific, educational and scientific according to modern teaching methods in geographic science.

* Section aims to qualify students to the possibility of using scientific research methods and techniques in geographic studies and the development of geographic information and skills to work as a teacher of geography of planets scientific development to continue scientific studies

* Provide students with the last scientific developments and keep up with her in the relationship between geography and science and other science and the use of this relationship and put them in the community and its development service.
