Applied geology section was established on academic year (2008-2009). The first batch of (40) male and female students were admitted. The section aims at preparing specialized staff in the different fields of geology including Mineral, Engineering, Oil, gas and Environment Investigation in addition to studying the earth forms for different uses. The section has paid much attention for having a new syllabus which suits the mineral geological status of Al-Anbar province.
Post graduate study for MSc. has established for first time in the department during 2019-2020 in General geology.
