 In implementation of the directives of the Honorable President of the University within the external activities of our center.. The Center for Strategic Studies at the University of Anbar, a joint study with the London School of Economics under the title (The Role of Local Police in Building Community Peace and Security) has been completed and with the participation of a selection of the Center’s researchers, each of  Dr. Thaer Shaker Mahmoud, Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Jassem, Head of the Heritage and Civilization Department, and Adviser to the President of the University for Public Relations, Prof. Falah Mubarak Bardan, Department of Strategic Studies, and Dr. Moataz, Head of the Future Studies Department, and Prof. Dr. Moataz. Dhaher Al-Issawi is a researcher at the Center. The study included a field study and interviews with community and security leaders and the sheikhs of the stakeholders’ clans. The study concluded to what extent the citizen in the city of Ramadi accepts the role of the local police in maintaining social cohesion and applying the law to protect the citizen. In addition, the study found the gap between the citizen and the police. After returning stability and trying to bring the relationship closer to be the real societal force in the face of extremist ideas.
