Anbar University holds a participatory seminar on future planning and design trends for the city of Ramadi

Under the patronage of Prof. Mushtaq Taleb Al-Nada, President of Anbar University, the Center for Strategic Studies at Anbar University, in cooperation with the Civil Engineering Department in the College of Engineering and the Ramadi Municipality Directorate, held a participatory workshop for the 2020/2021 academic season entitled (planning and design directions for the city of Ramadi al-Ghad) at the Ibn al-Haytham hall in the college Engineering .

The seminar, moderated by Prof. Thaer Shaker Mahmoud, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies at Anbar University, and Prof. Youssef Abdel Wahid Mansour, Head of the Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, included four axes, the first axis was titled The Role of Sustainable Transport in Addressing Urban Problems by Dr. Hamed Ahmed Awad from the College of Engineering and the second axis came under the title of Ramadi Municipality’s role in supporting sustainable development and its ability to provide services in the post-liberation phase as a model, which was managed by the engineer Basim Rasmi Thamil from the Ramadi Municipality Directorate. The third axis came under the title (Towards a Smart and Sustainable City) by Dr. Maher Shaker Mahmoud from the College of Engineering and the last axis, which was directed by Chief Engineer Nisreen Abdul Muttalib Ahmed from the Department of Communications and Information in Anbar, entitled Towards sustainable public transport in the city of Ramadi, the Ramadi tram project as a model.

 

For his part, the university president praised the great services provided by the Ramadi Municipality Directorate of the university and the governorate alike, especially its role and continuous and tireless work to support the university within the project launched by the president of the university (Anbar University, a green oasis). His Excellency also praised the role of the College of Engineering at Anbar University and its role in Graduation of distinguished engineering cadres who work within government departments and institutions that provide services to the governorate, including the Ramadi Municipality Directorate. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to the symposium participants. The seminar was attended by the Dean of the College of Engineering, the Advisor to the President of the University for Public Relations, the Director of the Ramadi Municipality, the General Director of Communications in Anbar and the Director of the Media Department at the University Presidency.
