Committees of the Center

Scientific committee was formed  at center of desert studies according to University document numbered 1018 in 7/2/2022 Committee mission:

1. Approval the research plans of researchers.

2. Endorsement and Monitoring of studies and projects that conducted out by research teams.

3. Monitoring of research Departments in center

4. Endorsement of scientific activities such as conferences symposia and weekly seminars.

Scientific committee

   The research plan follow-up committee was formed in our center according to the administrative order number 581 on 27/12/2021, the committee mission is to:

1. Following up the completion rates of research carried out by the Center’s researchers and approved by the Scientific Committee.

2. Follow up the implementation of these researches and work programs related to it.

  3. Identify the problems and obstacles that may face the preparation and implementation of researches.

The  Follow-up committee for research plan

     A follow-up committee for the desert environment was formed in our center according to the administrative order number 578on 27/12/2021 and the tasks of the committee are:

 1. Exploring new species of wild and medicinal plants, collecting plants samples within desert environments and depositing them in the herbarium of our Center.

 2.  Wild animal species classification within desert environments.

 3. Modeling soils and groundwater within the Western plateau and monitoring environmental problems that may affect the region.

 4. Monitoring the manifestations of land degradation within the desert environment in Al-Anbar Governorate to develop appropriate solutions to combat desertification.

A committee to study the desert environmental reality

Satellite Image Archive committee was formed in Department of Desert Geology according to Department Document 1 in 1/1/2020.

Mission of committee represented by:

1. preparation of Data base and satellite Image Archive for Anbar province.

2. Monitoring and follow up the desertification and preparing the desertificated lands and drought in Anbar province.

3. Availing satellite data for researchers and postgraduate students under supported cost by University presidency.
