Research Activities

Within the research trends of the center that tends to use the necessary strategies to confront the dangers of climate change and its impact on sustainable development, two projects have been implemented in this regard in the fodder station of a modern agriculture: 1. Management of irrigation and the depth of tillage of the quinoa crop in desert soil. 2. Deep tillage is an administrative process to increase the yield and raise the water use efficiency of quinoa. The two studies aim to determine water needs and calculate the yield average of quinoa by using the two methods of wind and sprinkler irrigation, and their overlapping with the depth of tillage, as well as reduce water losses and increase the water use efficiency and the role of deep tillage, water consumption and water use efficiency by using different types of irrigation. Under the climatic conditions of the Western desert, and through these experiments, the yield, water consumption and some of the physical and chemical properties of the soil are monitored.
