An overview of the Mathematics Department

The Department of Mathematics was established in the academic year 1988/1989, which coincided with the establishment of the college and the university, as it was one of the four departments that opened in the college since its establishment. The Department of Mathematics is one of the important departments in the College of Education for Pure Sciences, being the only department in the university that offers a bachelor’s program in mathematics. The department aims to prepare mathematics teaching staff at a good level of scientific knowledge and the ability for research and development. The first group had graduated from the department in the academic year 1992/1991.

 The Department of Mathematics teaches mathematics courses in all departments of the college, in addition to teaching computers in the college and in some other colleges. The department includes a number of professors in most of the mathematics disciplines and from reputable international universities. The duration of the study in the department is four years, during which the student studies various specialized subjects (foundations of mathematics - calculus - linear algebra - advanced computing - advanced differentiation - group algebra - differential equations - engineering - mathematical analysis - partial differential equations - probability - numerical analysis - loop algebra - Numerical analysis - Mathematical statistics - Nodal analysis - Topological - Optional subjects (functional analysis + measurements) in addition to educational materials (educational psychology - growth psychology - foundations of education - scientific research curriculum - educational administration - curricula and methods of teaching - educational guidance Measurement and evaluation, teaching applications, human rights, freedoms, English and Arabic. The semester system was adopted starting from the first stage in the academic year 2010-2011, and postgraduate studies (Masters) were opened in the department for the academic year 2018-2019, and the first group of graduate students (Masters) was graduated, and their number was five students.
