by the French Embassy in Baghdad on Thursday, June 30, 2022, in the presence of the French Ambassador, the Iraqi Minister of Environment and the Deputy Minister of Water Resources.


Dr. Ibtihal  participated  a poster  "Indicators of the water problem in Iraq".

 

 



This poster included three items: -

- Shared waters with neighboring countries and the effects of irrigation projects in those countries on Iraq's water share during the next ten years

- Water uses and losses in Iraq as a result of maintaining the old irrigation methods.

- Changing the water quality from its entry point into Iraq to the end of its mouth in the Gulf from a good and acceptable quality to a poor quality unfit for human use.

 

 

Then, showing a documentary film about the marshes and their biodiversity, as well as shedding light on the most important problems that the marshes suffer from and identifying ways and ways to find practical solutions to solve them and presentation of posters for the universities of Basra, Baghdad and Anbar, where the University of Basra participated in a poster on the hydrology of the marshes, and the University of Baghdad presented a poster on the history of the marshes and their importance for Iraq.
