NISA International Prize for Engineering Science and Technology is awarded to the College of Engineering/ University of Anbar

A new scientific achievement has been added to the University achievements for the academic staff members and students of the College of Engineering / University of Anbar during the participation in the global competition "NISA" for the best scientific research of the year of 2019.

The College has won this award for the best scientific research in the field of Engineering and Technological Sciences 2019 through its participation in the research title:

“Production and optimization of eco-efficient self-compacting concrete SCC with limestone and PET”

Which is done by the MSc student, “Marwa Hamad Mohammed” from the Department of Civil Engineering under the supervision of Professor Abdul Qadir Ismail Al-Hadithy and Asist. Prof. Mahmoud Khashie Mohammed Al-Ani.

The research was already published in the international journal of Construction and Building Materials.

It should be mentioned that the Network of Iraqi Scientists Abroad (NISA) is an independent and non-profit global organization. The NISA was established by some of Iraqi scientists on aboard who are currently working in some of the well-known universities around the Europe and the USA. The organization was mainly established to provide expertise and support in the sciences, technology and to other important disciplines. It plays as a significant part in the development of the scientific research in Iraq through enhancing the exchange of experience ,cooperation, staff and technicians training. It also encourages scientists and engineers to do more in education, innovation and exchanging technology in a competitive manner.

This award is generally given to show the excellence of the scientific research in Iraq and this is the main goal of NISA organization. The award would considerably contribute to encourage the Iraqi researchers to do more work and widen their knowledge and experience and is usually given to the best researchers and innovators every year for their contributions in the scientific disciplines that have a significant effect on the scientific research in Iraq based on standard academic criteria.
