      A research team from the College of Engineering - University of Anbar, consisting of three teaching professors in the Department of Civil Engineering, enabled the manufacture of a creep measuring device for flexible paving. This is to be used to determine the resistance of asphalt mixtures to the phenomenon of rutting resulting from the exposure of roads to various repetitive constant loads under temperatures. We hope that this research will be of assistance to faculty and graduate students in their research.

Creep in flexible paving is a vertical movement of a localized area of ??the road surface in the direction of traffic and arises as a result of traffic kinetic loads, when movement pushes the paving layer, it generates short and high waves on the surface of the paving layer. Stopping and beginning of movement or areas of adhesion of the cement concrete layer with the flexible asphalt layer, especially from the presence of significant changes in air temperatures. Therefore, it is important to measure and check the creep characteristic of asphalt mixtures used in the construction of flexible pavements within the changes in temperature, as generally in most regions of our country the temperatures reach approximately 50 degrees Celsius in the shade in the summer and reach a temperature of up to 70 ° C in areas exposed to sunlight, especially from the development in the newly used materials, which may cause some changes to the general properties of the mixture

From this point of view, and due to the lack of devices for checking creep in the flexible pavement within the change of temperatures, the research team started in creating ideas and designing a structure for the manufacture of a computer-controlled creep checking device to ensure the accuracy of its results.

* The device cabin is thermally insulated

* Bottom and upper supports for the loading box

* Download Box

* Longitudinal brackets

* Load cell (accuracy 0.1 Newton)

* Electronic temperature sensor
