Producing Food Mushroom in the Laboratories of the Center of Desert Studies  at the University of Anbar

 

A specialized research team from the Center of Desert Studies has cultivated and produced the food mushroom Agarics, which represents more than 35% of the global production, for its high nutritional value, as each 100 grams contains 3.09 grams of protein, 0.34 grams of fat, 1.98 grams of sugars as well as contains many nutrients such as potassium, iron, phosphorous, magnesium and zinc. It also contains many vitamins of C, B2, B3, B6, D. It provides body with healthy proteins and the fats are of low cholesterol, which is good for the heart and arteries. The production process was implemented under air-conditioned and sterile conditions, using locally available materials that are automatically controlled, which needs special requirements at all  inputs and production of cultivation. This study is considered a significant step that could be benefited from it as a productive project in all regions of the Province of Anbar to achieve part of self-sufficiency and to fulfill the goals of the sustainable development. Besides, it does not require costs as well as employing manpower in such projects
