In an unprecedented historic achievement, the University of Anbar, under the leadership of Professor Dr. Mushtak Talib Al-Neda, President of the University, has won the “Best Leadership and Management Award for 2025” as part of the Times Higher Education (THE) Awards – Arab World 2025. This award is considered one of the most prestigious educational honors in the Arab world and is often described as the “Oscar” of the higher education sector.
This recognition reflects the pivotal role played by the University President in reshaping the methodology of university administration and establishing an ambitious strategic vision that contributed to improving the work environment, modernizing organizational structures, and embedding a culture of quality and innovation within the university. Through conscious leadership and a balanced administrative approach, he succeeded in elevating the university to a level of genuine regional competition with leading Arab universities.
The award organizers emphasized that the major scientific, administrative, and academic transformation witnessed by the University of Anbar in recent years was a decisive factor in its win. They noted the university’s remarkable progress in governance, strategic planning, and resource management—areas whose success has been directly linked to the leadership of the University President and his commitment to empowering staff and enhancing their competencies.
