As part of the implementation of its strategic plans and the achievement of high-quality academic and scientific milestones, the University of Anbar continues to strengthen its advanced presence in prestigious global rankings. The university has begun 2026 by securing advanced positions in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2026.
The University of Anbar achieved notable rankings in six scientific disciplines within this prestigious global classification, recording outstanding results among Iraqi universities. It ranked (601–800) globally and first in Iraq in Computer Science, (801–1000) globally and first in Iraq in Life Sciences, and continued its distinction by achieving (801–1000) globally and first in Iraq in Engineering.
In addition, the university ranked (1000+) globally and first in Iraq in Social Sciences, attained (601–800) globally and second in Iraq in Physical Sciences, and secured a position within (1001+) globally and fourth in Iraq in Clinical and Health Sciences.
On this occasion, the President of the University of Anbar, Professor Dr. Mushtak Talib Saleh Al-Neda, extended his congratulations to all members of the university—faculty, researchers, staff, and students—on achieving these advanced rankings across six important scientific disciplines. He praised the significant efforts made by the academic and administrative staff in realizing this qualitative achievement, affirming that the excellence attained in these fields reflects the success of the scientific and strategic plans adopted by the university presidency to meet global standards in education and learning, scientific research, and international engagement. This, he emphasized, further enhances the standing of the University of Anbar among leading global universities.
