The establishment of the Islamic Sciences College was announced after the meeting of the of Higher Education Ministry and the council of Anbar university in 2005. Then the Islamic Sciences department in Art College became part of Islamic Sciences College. The college was comprised of four departments: Fiqih department, Hadith and its sciences, Tafseer and Quraanic Sciences and Aqidah, Thought and Dawa department. There were no more than twenty instructors and four officers. The building was small with limited equipment. We put our trust in Allah, then the efforts of sincere people, the college becomes one of the biggest colleges in Anbar university. The first batch of students graduated in 2007-2008. The student with the best grade in the university was from our college. Now there are 97 instructors and 28 officers. The research and investigation unite, journal and Audio lab rotary for Holy Quran are opened. The college offers master degree in its four departments. The college of Islamic Sciences is amply equipped to realize its mission with all that within its capabilities to promote distinctive learnings, worthy administration, and contemporary technical facilities. The college strives to provide the students with factual and practical knowledge that combine tradition with demands of modernity and rejecting extremism. It aims to enable them to be successful and professional teachers of shariah and advocator of faith.
