About the Department of Anatomy &Histology:

  All students who are enrolled to study Medicine must get all the anatomical information essential to the human body that are relevant and close to clinical study. In the department of anatomy students will learn  medical vocabulary and basic anatomy. 

In our Department we have an  integrated laboratory  and anatomy museum in which we can teach the different anatomical structures of the human body. The different topics to study human anatomy include knowledge of the basic structure of the body and find out the main organs of the body with their function .The understanding of human anatomy will help students learn the basic methods for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment for patients who suffer from health problems.

Main objective of the course of the anatomy is based on providing students with the details of the basic study plan and  excluding  all unnecessary details away from the clinical orientation , and also to exclude advanced clinical information above the level of  this stage of the study, and this is the essential first step in the modernization of anatomy curriculum  compared with curriculum in medical schools in the world.

The tremendous development in medical information about various diseases and the advancement in the diagnostic and theraputic techniques lead to revision of all the curriculun in the colleges of medicine. . Various materials are used to study anatomy, which include corpses, skeletons, various bones, plastic models, plastic bodies, posters and diagrams,  and anatomical movies on hard disks and videos.

Finally our department teaches practical anatomy  for students using small groups of students and using various means available to study a particular area of the body with the help of specialized teaching staff of the faculty and teaching assistants .
