The College Council exercises the following powers to conduct the work of the College and to achieve its objectives.

 

 

First: Scientific powers:

1.      Drawing the college policy in line with the general policy of the university and achieving its mission.

2.      Preparation of acceptance plans for preliminary and higher studies in the departments of the college.

3.      Preparation of the scientific research plan, writing and translation of the faculty departments.

4.      Recommending the creation, consolidation or cancellation of scientific divisions or branches.

5.      Recommending the development of postgraduate studies in the college.

6.   To consider the plans of the scientific departments on inviting visiting professors, conferences, scientific symposiums, assignments, scientific d uties, visas and leave inside and outside the country, and recommending them to the Rector to obtain approval.

7.    Approving the titles of letters and theses for postgraduate studies and approving the naming of supervisors for graduate students and naming the members of the discussion committees.

8.     Name members of the comprehensive examination committees for doctoral students.

9.      Reviewing the curricula of graduate and primary studies periodically and distributing them to the academic stages.

10.  Approval of the results of the postgraduate and primary examinations after being submitted by the departments and scientific branches in the college.

11.  Approval of the final examination tables after being removed from the sections and scientific branches.

12. Approval of the scientific promotion of the faculty member (teacher and assistant professor) and submitted to the university to issue the university order.

13.  Recommending to the Rector to upgrade the faculty member to the rank of professor after completion of its procedures by the Committee of Scientific Promotions in the College.

14.  Approve the postponement of the academic year for students of the College after the availability of justified justifications and the required documents.

15.  Approval of the first extension of graduate students (six months) and the recommendation of the Council of the Department.

16.  Recommending to the Rector the approval of the second and third extension of the postgraduate students upon the proposal of the department council or the scientific branch in the college.

17.  Recommending the assignment of teaching staff members and lecturers for postgraduate studies as needed and for the period specified by the departments and branches.

18.  Holding scientific and cultural agreements with the corresponding colleges inside and outside the country and submitting them to the university for approval.

Second: Administrative powers:

1.      Supervising the College's affairs and following up its scientific, cultural, artistic and sports activities.

2.      Preparing the faculty of the college for the next academic year in the second half of the current academic year in light of the proposal of the Dean and the boards of sections and branches.

3.      Review the titles of technicians and administrators within the authorized staff of the college.

4.      Reviewing faculty members periodically.

5.      Forming committees to assist him in performing his scientific, administrative and educational tasks.

6.      Disciplinary sanctions imposed on students.

7.      Recommending that teachers and staff be punished with a penalty for violating laws and regulations in force.

8.      Recommend the abolition of penalties imposed on teachers and staff after the exhaustion of their purposes.

9.      Recommend the abolition of sanctions imposed on teachers and employees after the conviction of the absence of justifications.

10.  Recommend referral of any of the faculty members to the competent courts as a result of their violation of the provisions of the law.

11.  Recommending the appointment of teachers (professor, assistant professor) when they reach the legal age of one year and renewed three times.

Third: Financial Powers:

1.   Proposing the annual budget plan, the import plan and the investment plan of the college and submitting it to the university president for unification with the plans of colleges and other institutes and submitting them to the university council for approval.

2.      Recommending to the university to approve the final accounts of the college.

3.      Review the report of the Financial Control Bureau of the College and discuss and express opinion in the comments contained therein.

4.      Authorization of the dean of the faculty some powers.
