College in Brief

Establishment of the College:

The Faculty of Education / Al-Qaim was established in the academic year 2007-2008 under the order of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. 3112 on 3/6/2007 to be the nineteenth college along with the faculties of University of Anbar. It is the first scientific institution for university education in the western region. This is a step forward for the development and expansion, to carry the burdens of higher education and scientific research in this region, which needs huge and diverse scientific services to cover those vast areas of land.

Moreover, it provides scientific and social research services to promote the reality of the diverse society in this land, and to equip with the modern sciences it needs to try to keep up with the procession of human civilization through the graduation of qualified teachers capable of lighting the paths of future generations. This highlights the burden set on this institution and the means of ensuring quality standards are the means of scientific and practical survival.

Departments:

There are two departments in the faculty:  Department of Arabic Language and the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education, which are the first seed. The graduation of the first batch of students of these two Departments was in the year 2010 - 2011, and we find a great demand from the surrounding community on these two Department.

The students are equally interested in the two departments. This facilitates the appointment of graduates of the college as they are related to religion, Shari'a, worship, and the Arab-Islamic civilization.

We also find the people of the region who are qualified with high degrees and high scientific titles accept to work in this college to serve the people of the region, and try to develop them to greater levels of civilization. Thus, these two departments are qualified with professors in various scientific disciplines carried out by the educational process in college. The Department of Arabic Language has 14 teaching staff, while the Department of Quranic and Islamic Law has 11 ones. The total number of teaching staff increased to 26 in the year 2011 – 2012.
