Participating in the viva of master thesis

Assist. Prof. Dr. Wissam H. Khalil-Director of the Renewable Energy Research Center participated in the viva committee of a MSc student (Ruwaida Ahmadi Obaid) / Department of Mechanical Engineering / College of Engineering / University of Anbar, title of thesis:

“Investigation of Hydrothermal Behavior of Jet Impingement on curved Surfaces”

In Sunday 30/10/2022 at 9:00 am at Ibn Al-Haytham Hall - Civil Engineering Department.

The study aims to: - Conduct a numerical and experimental study to study the behavior of flow and the process of heat transfer on curved surfaces.

The thesis included: a numerical and experimental study in the field of flow, heat transfer properties and entropy generation through collisional flow with a curved surface. Several factors such as surface shape (convex, concave, and flat), distance between extrusion and surface, surface bending angle, and Reynolds number are discussed.

The results of the study showed: - The heat transfer rate and the total entropy generation both increase with increasing Reynolds number, as well as the heat transfer rate of convex surfaces is higher than that of flat surfaces and concave surfaces.

After an extensive discussion by the discussion committee with the student, the thesis was accepted.
