By Sponsored and presence of Prof. Mushtaq Taleb Saleh Al-Nada, the esteemed President of Anbar University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Amir Abdul Rahman Hilal, Dean of the College of Engineering, the Mechanical Engineering Department, in cooperation with the Renewable Energy Research Center at the University of Anbar, held a scientific symposium titled: -

 ((Using Renewable Energy in Anbar Governorate “solutions and Obstacles”))

 The symposium, which was held today, Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Hall of the Electrical Engineering Department, was attended by the Dean of the College of Engineering, the Director of the Renewable Energy Research Center, the dean’s assistants for scientific and administrative affairs, heads of scientific departments at the university, and the representatives of government departments in the governorate, professors and graduate students in Section.

 The symposium aims to use renewable energy technology to play a greater role in enhancing the increasing demand for electrical energy in Anbar Governorate by overcoming obstacles that limit the use of renewable energy, spreading community awareness of the use of renewable energy and limiting the use of traditional energy, as well as spreading a culture of rationalization Consumption of electric energy in society by strengthening mechanisms for research and development in renewable energy.

 The sessions of the symposium, chaired by Prof. Saad Muhammad Jalil, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, and as a rapporteur, Prof. Wissam Hashem Khalil, Director of the Renewable Energy Research Center at the University Presidency, began.

Where Prof. Dr. Raid Khader Salman gave a lecture on the role of eddy air currents resulting from the movement of cars in the operation of vertical turbines and their exploitation in lighting the internal and external roads of the city of Ramadi, while Prof. Dr. Rabah Nuri Farhan gave a lecture that demonstrated the importance and role of smart electric meters improving electrical networks.

 The symposium came out with recommendations, including: -

* Spreading societal awareness of the use of various renewable energy technology.

* Spreading the culture of rationalizing energy consumption through the media and holding educational seminars in this regard.

 * The use of smart electric meters in order to reduce the excessive consumption of electrical energy.

 * Enhancing scientific research mechanisms to develop technology, especially renewable energy.
