University of Anbar was top ranked among 21 Iraqi higher education institutions

 

We are proudly announcing that the University of Anbar was top ranked among 21 higher education institutions in Iraq according to Scimago, the science evaluation resource. This year, University of Anbar overall global ranking score improved to 727th from 737th in the previous year. As described by Scimago, the main improvement has been achieved by the University of Anbar was through scientific research output, followed by societal output. This outstanding achievement has come in accordance with the striped strategy of the University of Anbar to incentive scientific research production along with playing an important role as a provider of services and a stimulator of social empowerment in its local community.

Assistant President of the University of Anbar for Scientific Affairs, Prof Mushtaq Talib Al-Nada has explained that the University of Anbar has advanced by four ranking points on a national level and ten ranking points globally. Prof Al-Nada has also clarified that the Scimago ranking is scientifically accredited ranking resource assessing international scientific journals, institutes and universities. Scimago ranking depends on three criteria, namely scientific research, inventions and societal factor, which are derived from solid scientific databases subjected to accurate scientific calculations. Therefore, this achievement summarizes the efforts made by the University of Anbar through its employees as well as researchers, and interprets the consensual process that relies on a clear and direct support by the university presidency.
