Discussion of a master thesis for the student Mahmoud Muhammad Ali

The master’s thesis of the student (Mahmoud Muhammad Ali) Department of Chemistry - College of Science - Anbar University was discussed on Thursday 30/4/2020 at the Jaber Bin Hayyan Hall in the College of Science using the electronic platform (Google Hangout Meet) on his thesis tagged: -

Preparation, diagnosis and quantification of gold nanoparticles by spectral methods

The discussion committee consisted of the following:

Prof. Inside Nasser Taha, University of Babylon - College of Science as president

Prof. Samir Hakim Karim, University of Baghdad - College of Science, Member

Dr.. Star Recep Majeed University of Anbar - College of Science member

Prof. Firas Fadel Ali Al-Anbar University - College of Education for Girls as member and supervisor

Prof. Ahmed Meshaal Muhammad Anbar University - College of Science member and supervisor

The letter looked at the preparation of AuNPs with an evaluation of the parameters that influence the method of Turkevich preparation. Where a low cost flowrate injection system was designed and the flow flow flow technology was applied to prepare the gold nanny solution and examine the optimum conditions for preparation (reactor length, pumping time and initial pumping speed) in addition to factors that affect the sizes and shapes of the gold nanoparticles formed (temperature, Au3 concentration + Amount of citrate, initial heating, reaction time and addition of reactants.

The study also included addressing the effect of interference ions on the formation of gold nanoparticles, and the effectiveness of these prepared particles was studied according to the Turkevich method as anti-bacterial agents using the Broth dilution method.

It is worth noting that Mr. Dean of the College of Science was present during the discussion electronically and after extensive discussion by members of the committee with the student on the subject of his thesis, the thesis was accepted. Congratulations to the student, the faculty of science, and the discussion committee.
