The discussion of the doctoral thesis of the student (Zeina Akab Salibi), Department of Physics - College of Science - Anbar University, took place on Tuesday 6/4/2021 at Jaber Bin Hayyan Hall in the College of Science for her tagged thesis (Anisotropic nanostructure GaN / ZnO with prepare pulse laser deposition technique for detection applications)

The study aims to prepare GaN, ZnO, and GaN / ZnO thin films on glass and silicon substrates with pulse laser deposition technique. The effect of energy and number of laser pulses on the structural and optical properties of the prepared films was studied, to obtain the best conditions and use in the manufacture of the ammonia gas sensor (NH3). The effect of temperature and gas concentration on sensor performance was studied when using aluminum and silver electrodes, as the results showed that the membranes are of high sensitivity.
