A research team from the College of Science, the Center for Desert Studies, the College of Agriculture and the Scientific Affairs Unit at the University of Anbar completed a scientific study entitled:

 “ GC/MS analyses of Moringa oliefera root and branches of stems extracts grown in Ramadi City, Iraq”

I found many vital components in the methanolic and ethanolic extracts of each of the roots and stems of Tree of Life (Morinca Oleifera) cultivated in Anbar Governorate. Gas chromatography technology was used for mass spectrometry, and 14 and 19 bioactive compounds were found in each of the methanol and ethanolic extracts, respectively, in the roots, and 3 and 6 bioactive compounds were found in both the methanol and ethanolic extracts, respectively, in the branches. It has been known that each of these compounds has therapeutic medical importance for one of the pathological conditions. Examples include: stimulating the heart and blood circulation, activating fertility, anti-tumor, antipyretic, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer, hypotensive, treating diabetes, antioxidant, anti-toxin, and many others.           

 We conclude from this study that the morinca tree planted in Anbar Governorate also contains many important medical materials and can be considered a green pharmacy at hand. The use of parts of this tree has a preventive role against various diseases, and we recommend planting it in the home garden.
