About the college

    The Department of Physical Education in the College of Education for Human Sciences was established in the academic year 1998-1999, and its development was distinct, as the graduate studies for the master's program were opened in 2005 and its remarkable development continued until it was independent in the College of Physical Education in the academic year 2006-2007 based on what was imposed by the need to develop Infrastructure for sports and to achieve the goals of higher education and scientific research, where it became the Faculty of Physical Education, and its goal was to meet the needs of the Iraqi society and educational institutions of cadres with scientific and practical qualifications specialized in the fields of physical and sports education. Noble morals and promoting patriotism and sports that call for supporting everything that is healthy and clean on the basis of the right of young people to development and active participation, in addition to promoting productive work to supplement the national economy, given that the practice of sports as a pattern is crowned with health, work and production and a belief in the importance of interaction And to strengthen relations with the local community, the college is working to provide and create the appropriate environment for holding many training programs and courses The diverse sports environment in order to make its contribution to seeking to develop the scientific knowledge necessary for workers in the various sports fields. The college also contributes to building a solid educational system to prepare educational and scientific staff at the level of primary and higher studies and community service. It also aims to activate close links between the college and the outputs and relevant community institutions. The relationship and always seeks, in coordination with the Presidency of the University, to raise the scientific level of faculty members by organizing development courses and open dialogue seminars to serve its students and the community. The college also includes a number of specialized administrative and technical staff.
