Remote sensing has become very important in recent studies, especially studies of large areas such as river basins, lakes and deserts. The aerial and judicial imagery provides data that reduces effort and time, provides a lot of money and facilitates access to data that is not accessible by conventional means. This unit deals with the studies of different resources by taking or collecting satellite images and analyzing them using modern devices and technologies, and using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software in the spatial analysis of these data.

      The unit started early with the aim of concluding an investment contract for a period of one year, which can be extended with the Iraqi House of Maps Company, which includes supplying the Center of the Euphrates Basin Studies with an integrated system of geographic information systems (GIS) for free and training the center staffs to operate them at a subsidized price against the share of the profits of the projects to be carried out This research unit of the state departments later.
