Cultivation of plastic green house


The terminal station staff of the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center at Haditha activated protected agriculture by the early production of vegetable crops, by providing the suitable climatic environments of growth, through the application of various methods, including plastic or glass coverings.

Accordingly, a new method of mulching was used by utilizing transparent soft drink cans to provide a suitable environment for the plant's seeds of okra, pumpkins and cucumber planned for cultivation, as shown in the attached photographs, where this method provides early time for more than a month, where the staff of the station cleaned the plastic house and rid it of the growing weeds ploughed and encoded it on scientifically recommended distances, and then the extension of the pipes of the re-drip and linked to the water source by following the modern scientific methods. Pumpkins, okra and cucumbers were cultivated in the first quarter of 2021.
