Meeting to discuss ways of scientific and research cooperation between the College of Agriculture and the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center (UEBDC)


Based on the guidance of the University Presidency about the necessity for cooperation and integration between the university colleges and its research centers, a delegation from the UEBDC headed by Professor Dr. Ammar Hatem Kamel, Director of the Center accompanied by Dr. Muneer Naji Ahmed, Head of the Natural Resources Department, with Professor Dr. Idham Ali Abed, the Dean of the College of Agriculture, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Isam Khudhair Hamza, member of the UEBDC Board and one of the teaching staff in the College of Agriculture, and Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Hamdan, Assistant Dean of Scientific Affairs at the College of Agriculture, and Professor Dr. Adel Abdallah Yousif, the animal production specialist.

During the meeting, they discussed scientific and research cooperation between the college and the center and activated this cooperation and exchanged ideas on the development of research and applied work, especially with regard to the sustainable development objectives and benefiting from the experience of the College of Agriculture in the development of small and successful development projects that can be a starting point for the development of improvement projects at the level of the cities of the Upper Euphrates basin such as the project of producing and marketing mushrooms and projects to develop fertilizer production and animal production where the college is considered one of the leading institutions in this field.

The Dean of the College of Agriculture confirmed his readiness to develop cooperation with research centers and his full support for this trend for its importance in strengthening the role of the college, research centers and university in serving the community and achieving the sustainable development objectives within the vision of the University and Iraq 2030.

A series of proposals for the development of integration and research work between researchers and teaching professionals were also discussed in the various disciplines in the center and the college and preparation of joint studies of an economic development nature that will be prepared and launched in the near future Inshallah.
