The UEBDC Participates in the establishment of training courses for water resources staff in Anbar Province

In order to enhance the role of the university in serving the community, which the University of Anbar has set among the priorities of its strategic plans and in implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/ Department of Construction and Projects, numbered m/1995 in 31/5/2022 depending on the resolution of the Supreme Water Committee (No. 1) for 2022 and the directives of the Honorable Council of Ministers to take the necessary procedures to support the Ministry of Water Resources in addressing water scarcity, the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center, in cooperation with the College of Agriculture and the German Organization of ASB, under the supervision and follow-up from Eng. Jamal Odeh Samir, Director General of Water Resources in Anbar Governorate, a development course on (building the capacity of water resources staff on optimal water management and preserving its sources to treat water scarcity). The course was participated 60 employees, technicians and engineers who belong to the Directorate of Water Resources in Anbar province and were set up in three locations (Anah, Heet and Ramadi). The lectures on modern irrigation systems, classification and properties of agricultural soils and their use in various types of crops have been submitted, In addition to managing water resources and introducing the causes of water scarcity and methods of treatment and its future impact on the water resources system and its management in the province.

The Regional Director of the ASB organization with the efforts of university professors and researchers and their great role in spreading awareness about the dangers of water scarcity and its high appreciation for the presidency of University of Anbar for its support of the organization’s projects in the province.

Eng. Jamal Odeh Samir, Director General of Water Resources in the governorate, also praised the efforts of the university and the role of its professors and researchers in developing the capabilities of water resources staff, as well as agricultural staffs from farmers and cultivators to confront the water scarcity..

In cooperation with the College of Agriculture and the German organization of ASB, the Upper Euphrates Basin Development Center Participates in the establishment of training courses for water resources staffs in Anbar Province.
