((In the longest observation period)), the continued flow of torrents of Horan valley to the Euphrates River

With the blessed efforts of the staff of the terminal station-Haditha of the Upper Euphrates Basin Developing Centre at the University of Anbar, monitoring and measurements of the runoff events of Horan valley continues for the fifth consecutive day with two morning and evening observations.

Engineer Juma’a Mohammed Ahmed stated that during the morning monitoring of Thursday 28-3-2024, a discharge of 8 cubic meters per second was recorded at eleven o'clock in the morning.

As for yesterday, Tuesday 27-3-2024, the recorded discharges were (45) cubic meters per second at ten thirty in the morning and (24) cubic meters per second at five in the afternoon.

It is worth mentioning that this observation is the longest monitoring since the observation that was recorded by the Yugoslav company in 1976 within the hydrological study of the region commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation at that time.

These measurements and meteorology provide a very important database for the study of climate change and the development of hydrological models necessary in the design, operation and management of water harvesting projects and give a clear and important perception to decision-makers in the economic feasibility of investing the water of these valleys in economic development, which is part of the University of Anbar's strategic plan to achieve the goals of sustainable development and Vision 2030.
