Anbar University - College of Education for women Historical Overview Of The College Genesis -The college was founded in 1987 by decree no. 951 in 23/12/1987. Along with the college of Education our college is considered the nucleus of Anbar university -The college was officially inaugurated in the academic year 1988-1989.It consisted of three academic departments then: - During the academic year 1989-1990 two more departments were inaugurated: - During the academic year 1990-1991 three more departments were inaugurated: -During the academic year 1997-1998 the department of educational and psychological sciences was founded but was later downgraded to a branch in the academic year 2004-2005 -During the academic year 2004-2005 the department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education was founded. - The college now comprises seven departments and the branch of psychological counseling and educational guidance. -Students graduated for the first time from the college during the academic year 1991-1992.A total of 84 students graduated from the college three departments: To achieve an increase in the specialized scientific knowledge in all academic fieldswith particular emphasis on the aspects of education, teaching, and scientific research through the preparation of highly qualified cadres and through the effective contribution with theoretical and applied research to support the needs and expectations of social institutions and also to support the national vision for reformation, development, and advancement. Goals of the College 1. Preparation of highly qualified female cadres to serve in the social institutions and implementation of higher studies programs in the different scientific and humanistic fields. 2.Development of educational process and encouragement of scientific research through self-resources and through exchanging experiences and cooperation with relevant institutions. 3.Modernization of educational programs in the university through the development of various aspects of the educational system and presenting counseling in all fields to different institutions.
