The vision, mission and goals of the branch

 Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Branch

·        The branch was founded in 1990-1991.

·        The branch aims at providing students with educational information that enable them to deal with educational and psychological problems in schools. The branch also aims at providing graduates with educational and psychological experiences that help them teach at male and female teachers’ institutions.

The branch Vision:

Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Branch looks forward to be locally and regionally distinguished in terms of psychological and educating programs, and learning, teaching and scientific research methods and techniques in the educational and psychological fields, through the pursuit of the objectives of the university in conformity with the overall quality standards.

The Branch Vision

The mission of the branch is to contribute effectively to meet the needs of the community at the local and regional levels, and to disseminate psychological knowledge at the theoretical and practical level (field level) in accordance with international standards and the requirements of educational and community institutions, with full awareness of the problems of the society and the job ethics. The vision is extended to include what the staff members do to enrich the educational and psychological sciences through conducting genuine scientific research.

The Branch Objectives

First: At the level of learning and education:

·        Preparing graduates with competence in the fields of education and psychologically (as teachers and educational guides) who are able to bring about the desired change in society.

·        Working on the recruitment and adoption of educational programs in accordance with the overall quality standards.

·        Giving students positive attitudes towards teaching and guidance.

·        Developing students' awareness of the ethics of the profession of teaching and counseling.

Second: At the level of scientific research:

·        Providing students with research skills in scientific in the educational and psychological fields to study phenomena related to the field of education and psychological to address life and profession problems by enabling students to pursue higher studies.

Third: On the level of community service:

·        The establishment of a social educational and psychological conscious system linking the university with the local community. This system sheds light on the educational, psychological and social needs, and helps in alleviating the problems faced by different social classes of the society in accordance with contemporary trends through conducting seminars, courses, lectures and meetings.

·        Contribute to raising the psychological health of the different classes of society through providing counseling and psychological guidance services.

·        Increasing awareness of the importance of educational and psychological sciences in the development and growth of society.
