Publishing a scientific research in a reputable journal

Headed by Fadwa Waleed Abdulqahar, a lecturer in the Food Science Department at our college, a scientific team that includes local, Arab and international researchers from various scientific specializations. The joint efforts of the researchers have resulted in the publication of important scientific research in the field of biotechnology and therapeutic foods entitled:

“In silico analyzes of bioactive compounds extracted from Ziziphus jujuba using supercritical CO2 extraction: Potential anti-anxiety and anti-Alzheimer’s disease”

In a reputable international journal: Bioactive Compounds in Health and Disease

The journal is published by Functional Food Center Inc. (an American center). It is indexed by Scopus with a Cite score of = 3.2 and within the third quartile in Scimago= Q3.

The research aimed to analyze the bioactive components of Ziziphus jujuba plant extract, which was extracted using supercritical CO2 extraction technology. For the first time, artificial intelligence, molecular docking, and ADME were introduced to simulate the effect of active components in plant extracts against human chronic diseases, such as anxiety attacks and Alzheimer's, by testing the effect of active substances against acetylcholinesterase compounds and beta-amyloid proteins involved in Alzheimer's disease. Serotonin is common with chronic anxiety attacks. The results indicated that a number of compounds showed a strong tendency to bind with acetylcholinesterase (4EY7) as an anti-Alzheimer's disease, and andrographolide and serotonin transporter (6VRH) as an anti-anxiety attack. This approved the efficacy of these bioactive components in enhancing the human therapeutic system through functional and therapeutic food applications. Web Link Click here
