The College of Basic Education/Haditha, in cooperation with the Educational Guidance and Psychological Guidance Unit, the Student Activities Department at the University Presidency, and the Student Activities Unit at the College, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Mudhar Abd Ali, the respected Dean of the College, held a guidance seminar on homosexuality between the provisions of islamic law and the authority of the law and psychology on this Tuesday: 10/17/2023, at eleven in the morning, in the central hall of the college.

The symposium was divided into three axes: The first: by  Dr. Bassem Sabah Musa, in which he discussed the isllamic axis. The other: by Dr. Atheer Walid Tawfiq, in which he addressed the law axis

The symposium was moderated by Professor Dr. Mohammed Owaid Al-Sayer.

   The summary of the symposium is as follows: Homosexuality, which has become a global phenomenon from which human societies have not been spared. This phenomenon has become widespread and frequent, threatening the security and stability of society, and threatening family and psychological problems. How many homes are without stability, and how many people have tried to commit suicide, because of this vile curse.

The legitimate axis

In the name of God, praise be to God, and prayers and peace be upon the Messenger of God, our Master Muhammad, and upon his family and all his companions. As for what follows:

God Almighty created man with a sound nature, implanted desires in him, and created ways for him to channel these desires.

But some transgress and transgress this nature and contradict it, and even alienate it, and from this transgression some people transgress in going against their nature and their sexual desire in placing it and searching for it in a way other than its proper natural setting...

Homosexuality is a general description that does not mean more than having a same-sex sexual relationship without specifying whether the sexual relationship is between two males or two females...

Islamic law has forbidden this indecency, and it is one of the most severe types of major sins, whether the act of sodomy between a man and a man or (lesbianism) between a female and a female.

It is agreed upon that this is prohibited

Psychological axis:

The causes of homosexuality include a number of psychological, environmental, emotional, biological, and hormonal causes.

There are several theories about the reason for the emergence of the phenomenon, including the psychoanalytic theory, which does not completely deny the congenital theory, but it believes that there are reasons in early childhood that may lead to the individual forming a complex toward the opposite sex, such as:

A poor relationship between a son and mother or daughter and father, a parent's rejection of members of the same sex, and the child's loss of a parent, which may lead the boy or girl to search for the same sex in later life to compensate for the loss of the father or mother.

The symposium's recommendations were aimed at advice and suggestions that help protect generations from the danger of this reprehensible indecency, which are:

(1) Monitoring children’s real-life and electronic activities; In order to protect them from paid messages promoting, accepting, and supporting homosexuality in the following contents and activities, such as electronic games - applications for phones and smart devices - cartoon films - series and cinematic films - popular materials on social networking sites - books and novels - sports tournament events - advertisements and posters for goods and products, And others.

(2) Clarifying the position of religions and virtues that reject homosexuality, and spreading correct awareness that confronts the propaganda directed at them through the aforementioned outlets.

(3) Filling children’s free time with things that benefit them by acquiring useful sciences and various sporting activities.

(4) Developing children’s skills, using them for what benefits them and their community, benefiting from their creativity, and setting a good example for them.

(5) Choose good company for your children, and follow up on their studies through continuous communication with their teachers.

(6) Constantly encouraging young people to perform positive actions, even if they are simple from the point of view of parents, and giving them space for self-realization, enhancing capabilities, and gaining confidence.

Legal axis

The biggest legal violation of the issue of deviance (homosexuality) is represented by the call of international organizations working within the framework of gender marketing that achieving constitutional equality between men and women in rights and freedoms is not enough, but rather this must be achieved in main and subsidiary legislation in order to destroy all restrictions that stand as a stumbling block to gender equality.

The symposium was attended by a group of guests, college professors, and students, and it received extensive interventions and discussions.
