"The College of Basic/Haditha Education organizes an awareness workshop on the dangers of water pollution."

As part of the annual plan launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for environmental awareness in Iraqi universities, and under the direct sponsorship of the Dean of the College of Basic/Haditha Education, represented by its esteemed dean, Dr. Mudhir Abed Ali, our college organized an awareness workshop on Monday morning, March 11, 2024, entitled "The Impact of Solid Waste in the Riverbed on the Aquatic Environment and Its Ecosystems" in the Conference and Seminar Hall.

The workshop began with Assistant Professor Ahmed Rajab Mohammed welcoming all attendees and congratulating them on the blessed month of Ramadan, praying for God to bless them with goodness, grace, and blessings. He then presented his lecture, highlighting the results of the workshop, including the environmental pollution caused by throwing solid waste into water bodies such as water bottles and iron pieces, which can have severe health effects on humans, leading to diseases such as cancer and kidney issues. Following that, Assistant Lecturer Zaid Abdul Jabbar Abdullah delivered his lecture focusing on recommendations, emphasizing the need for the state and relevant institutions to address the pollution issue by implementing strict laws that prohibit individuals, companies, and hospitals from disposing of their waste in rivers, and promoting recycling as seen in advanced countries.

The seminar concluded with an open floor for feedback and discussion among the professors and students to enrich the topics presented by the speakers and emphasize their importance. The college expressed its gratitude to all those who contributed and participated in this educational seminar, praying for everyone's success.
