Vision, Mission and Objectives

Vision:

1- The Department looks forward to developing translation at the academic and professional levels and preparing competent translators to meet the requirements of the labor market.

2- Preparing qualified staffs who hold the BA degree in the field of translation to meet the growing need for this specialization.

3- Preparing graduates holding the BA degree in the field of translation to occupy various positions in order to provide state institutions, ministries and international organizations with translators and trainers in this field who have the ability to create and innovate in their specialization.

4- Improving the academic education system within the framework of quality management and achieving the high status of this specialization at the University level and the country in general.

Mission:

The Department attempts to be an advanced and innovative link to the modern and future requirements of this era between the Arab and Western cultures through the transfer of advanced cultural products. It also works to prepare generations of holders of the BA degree in translation to occupy various positions in order to provide state institutions and ministries with translators and teachers of translation who have the ability to be creative and innovative in their field of specialization.

Qualification & Job Opportunities:

The Department awards the BA degree in translation. Graduates from this Department can find job opportunities in several fields, such as the ministries of education, foreign affairs, culture and information, defense, military institutes, press and translation houses. They can also find employment in research centers, international organizations, and security agencies in the countries of the Arab world, especially after the recent increase in demand on translation to fill the urgent need to communicate with other nations in various branches of knowledge.
