Fasting achieves many benefits for the human body, as many seek to take advantage of the opportunity of fasting to lose some weight, but studies have shown that fasting also affects the level of fats and leads to a decrease in cholesterol in the blood. This contributes to reducing the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other diseases.

Fasting in the month of Ramadan represents an important and positive turning point in the life of the fasting person and the health of his digestive system, as the body gets used to eating smaller amounts of food, gives the digestive system an opportunity to rest and leads to a gradual shrinking of the size of the stomach and a reduction in appetite, and it can have better results than The most effective type of diet.

Fasting is useful in consuming fat reserves and cleanses the body of harmful toxins that can be present in fat accumulations. Thus, the body begins to get rid of toxins naturally because of the change in the functioning of the digestive system throughout the month, which gives the fasting person the opportunity to continue following a healthy lifestyle after Ramadan. Studies indicate that fasting has a positive effect within 30 days, and many changes occur because of it, according to what was reported by the «Senego» website, describing what is happening as “surprising.”

The site «Senego» stated that after 8 hours of fasting, the body does not find anything to burn or absorb nutrients, since the last meal it ate, so it begins to adopt a new strategy, as the body turns to dependence on glucose found in the liver and muscles, to provide energy. Once the glucose ends, before the end of the day's fast, fat becomes the next source of energy for the body. This process helps a lot in reducing weight, cholesterol, and blood sugar, and thus the risk of developing diabetes, but the lack of glucose also has a negative effect, as it causes weakness and lethargy, which results in headaches, dizziness, nausea, and bad breath.

By continuing to fast for consecutive days, the body begins to adapt to fasting, and the body at the time of fasting repairs itself, and its attention shifts from eating to other functions. During the second half of Ramadan, the body's functions begin to change again, as the colon, liver, kidneys, and skin begin the process of detoxification, organs regain full energy, memory and concentration improve and you may have more energy.

He pointed out that fasting Ramadan properly, allows the body's energy to be renewed daily, which means losing part of the weight without the body burning precious muscle tissue.
