Publication of a Scientific Research within clarivate Index Q1

Assist. L. Tareq H. Abed and Dr. Kafel Azeez, researchers at the Renewable Energy Research Center – University of Anbar in cooperation. Publish a scientific article in scientific journal Case Studies in Thermal Engineering” that has clarivate index Q1 with IF=6.8 titled:

"Thermohydraulic performance study of the effect of winglet inserts and a corrugated wall in a rectangular channel"

This scientific article explored improving heat transfer and pressure drop in rectangular channels using transverse corrugations and longitudinal winglet vortex generators. Numerical simulations spanned Reynolds numbers (Re) from 5000 to 20000, assessing geometric factors (corrugated channel amplitude and winglet length). Corrugated channels alone hindered heat transfer with stationary transverse vortices. However, integrating winglet vortex generators introduced beneficial longitudinal vortices, disrupting stationary vortices, enhancing near-wall turbulence, and improving fluid mixing and heat transfer compared to smooth and corrugated channels. At Re 20,000, corrugated channels with winglets exhibited 167.7% and 61.8% higher Nusselt numbers than smooth and corrugated channels, respectively. This enhanced heat transfer, though, came with increased pressure drop. The study highlights insights into heat transfer mechanisms in corrugated channels and suggests potential improvements through winglet vortex generators.
