Discussion of a master's thesis for the student, (Randa Younis Abdul-Jabaar)

The public discussion of the master's student (Randa Younis Abdul-Jabaar), Department of Chemistry - College of Science - University of Anbar, took place on Thursday, 19/8/2021 at Jaber bin Hayyan Hall in the College of Science for her thesis tagged: -

((Preparation nanoparticle of graphene oxide magnetic with some metals and used as antibacterial)).

The study included the preparation of graphene oxide nanoparticles by using the Humer method and making composites with iron(III) oxide, nickel oxide, and cobalt dioxide with concentrations of various compounds and compounds prepared by spectroscopic methods such as infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), element analysis methods (EDX), electron microscopy technology (FESM) and X-ray diffraction spectroscopy ( (XRD and Flame Spectroscopy to Measure Elements ratio (FAAS) (Gentamycin, Fucidin, and Amoxicillin) as synergistic materials. The study aims to evaluate the efficiency of graphene oxide and its compounds in inhibiting the growth of bacteria. The results of the biological activity of GO and the compounds Fe2O3, CoO, NiO showed us weak and ineffective activity for most types of bacteria. As for the synergistic action with antibiotics, partial synergy prevailed, and this was evident with the antibiotic -amoxicillin, fucidin, and bacteria. S. aureus only.
