The public discussion of the master's student (Nibras Yousif Abdullah), Department of Chemistry - College of Science - University of Anbar, took place on Thursday,  26-8- 2021 at Jaber Bin Hayyan Hall in the College of Science about her thesis tagged :-

((Synthesis gold/silver nanoparticles using wastes and study impact of its composed with some anti-biotics on biological activity))

The study included the preparation of gold and silver nanoparticles using the biological method (by plant extracts), as well as the preparation of nanoparticles for their mixture in a certain ratio for each. The nanoparticles were diagnosed by UV-VIS spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Elemental analysis spectroscopy (EDX) and flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (FAAS) and testing the effectiveness of the prepared particles in inhibiting the growth of bacteria and on four types, namely, S.aureus positive, A.baumanni, K.pneumonia, Ps.aeruginosa negative, and using seven types of antibiotics. Cefepime, Ciprofloxacin, Doxycycline, Imipenem, Piperacillin, Tobramycin, Vancomycin. As synergistic substances, the used antibiotics showed no effect, except for Vancomycin, which showed partial synergy with all bacterial isolates, and Doxycycline showed partial synergy against Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
