Discussion of a master’s thesis for the student (Hanan Hamid Muhammad)

The public discussion of the master’s student (Hanan Hamid Muhammad) in the Department of Biology - College of Science - University of Anbar was held on Tuesday 14/9/2021 in the Graduate Studies Hall in the Department of Chemistry - College of Science about her tagged thesis:

((Bacteriological and Molecular Studies of Bacterial Isolates for wound in  patients from post-surgical operations Infections in Ramadi city)).

The study aims to investigate the cause of clinical infection prevalence after surgical operations in Ramadi city hospitals.

It included studying the bacteria that cause infection and knowing its type, and the susceptibility of antibiotics to different isolates, in addition to the detection of some virnlence factors. The results showed a high prevalence of bacterial isolates from surgical wound infections 83% .

The predominant bacteria was staphylococcus aureus for gram positive, and for negative was E.coli . The results showed a high resistance of all isolates to Amoxicillin, cafalothin , ceftazidime, Ampillin, ciprofloxacin, and cefotaxime, while Imipeuem, meropenem, and Amikacine were sensitive . Most of isolates were biofilm produciny, most of them produce virnlence factors in different degrees Hemolysin, colonic acid , CFA-1 gene, Sfa-1 gene, and agglutination of RBC(group A) in the presence of D-mannose.
