The public discussion of the doctoral student (Sarab Tariq Mahmoud), Department of Chemistry - College of Science - University of Anbar, took place on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, in Jaber Ibn Hayyan Hall in the College of Science, about her thesis tagged: (Relationships of Omentin-1 and YKL-40 with some Biochemical Parameters in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus)

             The study aims to evaluation of inflammatory factors and its relationships with oxidative stress and some other biochemical parameters such as lipid profile and its role in change the insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes patients in Anbar Governorate.

The study found that the concentrations of Omentin-1 and YKL-40 in serum were associated with BMI, insulin resistance and oxidative stress index. An increase in the level of YKL-40 and decrease Omentin-1level in the serum in patients with type 2 diabetes may lead to antioxidant disturbance and increased production of oxidants that cause the development of complications of type 2 diabetes.
