Vision, Mission & Goals

 

Vision:

The vision of sociology comprises the study of society and its conditions, and the statement of the social systems that make up the social structure, such as the political, economic, educational, military, religious, and family systems. The functions of these systems and how they integrate with each other, in addition to the concerns of sociology factors of transformation and development in the world and stating the results and repercussions of this development. The Department aims to prepare a generation of graduates qualified to engage in scientific research in the fields of sociology and its branches of social anthropology and social service, and to keep abreast of modern scientific research methods based on solid foundations in the field of social sciences. In addition to get the excellence in providing educational services and scientific research in the field of sociology.

 

 

 

 

Mission:

 

The mission of the Department of Sociology is explained as follows:

 1. Working hard to prepare a distinguished incubating environment for scientific research that serves the community.

 2. Enriching the Iraqi society with various disciplines in the field of social sciences at high and effective levels to advance social reality and development in line with the standards of developed societies and to enhance the mission of the university towards a better position locally and internationally. The main mission of the Department is to work with a modern academic strategy, based on the best social field and theoretical researches in the teaching sociology all over the world, which ensures a better result and the success of new methods of teaching. In addition to that, graduating qualified scientific cadres capable of researching and working to meet the needs of society and supplying universities and educational schools with cadres with professional and scientific capabilities in order to work on teaching modern sociology.

 

Goals:

 

1. The Department aims to improve the student's knowledge of sociology and its relationship to other sciences.

2. The Department aims to enhance students' research skills.

3. Instilling the ethics of the profession as social researchers in the souls of graduates to avoid corruption and deviations that do not match with the ethics of the profession.

4. Providing an educational atmosphere for students, in addition to the scientific atmosphere that we are trying to provide in order to be suitable for what they need to be creative work teams in our society.

5. Developing innovative scientific researches for their essential role in serving the community and solving its problems.

6. Providing advice and expertise through the Department's research, seminars and conferences to meet the requirements of students and society and achieve development.
