 * Eight Iraqi universities topped by Babylon in the times world ranking*

The times world ranking announced the results of its new edition, which ranked and evaluated one thousand seven hundred and ninety-nine universities from 104 countries around the world for the year 2023.
The results announced on the Times ranking website included :https://www.timeshighereducation.com/.../world-ranking...) * Iraqi universities achieved significant competitive rankings, represented by the achievement of eight universities of important results at the level of global competition, where the University of Babylon ranked(601-800), followed by the University of technology(801-1000), then the University of Anbar(1001-1200), while the Universities of Baghdad, Basra, Kufa, Mosul and al-Mustansiriya ranked(+1501).*
The times world ranking adopted key criteria for university rankings based on the evaluation and measurement of performance indicators in five areas: teaching(learning environment) 30%, research(volume, income and reputation) 30%, citations(Research Impact) 30%, international outlook(staff, students and research) 7.5% and industry income(knowledge transfer) 2.5 %.
It is worth mentioning that Iraqi universities and colleges have registered their increasing competition in international rankings, including the Shanghai classification(Global Ranking of Academic Subjects), in which the University of Baghdad appeared within the chemical engineering specialty, The Times classification, in which there are currently eight universities, the QS classification, in which there are five universities, the Scimago classification, in which there are twenty-two institutions, the GreenMetric classification, in which sixty-six Iraqi universities and colleges entered, the URAP, in which there are four Iraqi universities and a Webometrics rating is added to it, which recorded the attendance and competition of eighty-nine Iraqi universities and colleges.
