Assist. Prof. Dr. Shamil Ismail Neamah, Head of the Desertification Control Department, participated as a member of the scientific discussion committee for the master's thesis of the student (Masara Zafer Jasim) in the Field Crops Department, College of Agriculture, University of Anbar. On Thursday 9/March/2023, for her dissertation entitled (The Effect of Chemical Medium Components and Silver Nanoparticles on the Accumulation of Biomass and Secondary Metabolite Compounds in callus Culture of Trigonella foenum- graecum L.)

Discussion committee included

1.     Prof. Dr. Aqil Abboud Najm / University of Tikrit, College of Agriculture/ Chairman

2.     Assist. Prof. Dr. Imad Mahmoud Ali / University of Anbar, College of Agriculture/ Member

3.     Assist. Prof. Dr. Yasser Sayel Sakhi / University of Anbar, College of Agriculture/ Member

4.     Assist. Prof. Dr. Shamil Ismail Neamah / University of Anbar, Center for Desert Studies/ member and supervisor

The study's results were summarized on the possibility of improving biomass production indicators of callus tissue of fenugreek plant by using nutrient medium LS with the combination 2.0 + 1.5 mg L-1 of the growth regulators 2,4-D and BA, respectively. Whereas the medium nutrient B5 produced the highest accumulation of compounds. Medically effective when included with nanomaterial (Ag NPs) at a concentration of 2.0 mg L-1, which contributed to increasing the production of alkaloid compounds represented by Trigonelline and Diosgenin, as well as increased production of flavonoids expressed by Qurcetine, Vitxein, Rutin, Apigenin, Isovitexin and Kaemferol in vitro.

After extensive discussion by the committee members, the thesis was accepted after making the corrections recommended by the discussion committee.

Congratulations to the student and the supervisor
