Prof. Ali Faddam Abdullah, Head of Conservative Agriculture Department in our center was participated in a scientific team that included local, Arab and international researchers succeeded in publishing scientific research titled " Phytochemical analysis and antifungal potential of two Launaea mucronata (Forssk.) Muschl and Launaea nudicaulis (L.) Hook.fil. wildly growing in Anbar province, Iraq"
in an international journal:
The aim of the research is to analyze the active components of plant extracts of two wildly growing local species in Anbar Governorate and test their effectiveness in reducing the development of plant-pathogenic fungal infections. For the first time, artificial intelligence programs and molecular docking were applied to test the effect of active components in local plant extracts against the major pathogenic enzymes of phytopathogenic fungi. These compounds have proven highly effective against fungi, especially in low concentrations. The two plant species have been registered in the NCBI with deposit numbers OP106590 and OP106591.
