The first scientific symposium for the academic year 2023-2024 entitled

 Under the patronage of the President of Anbar University, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nada, under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Amer  Abdul Rahman Hilal, the Department of Civil Engineering at the College of Engineering, in cooperation with the Centers for Strategic Studies and Renewable Energy Research and the Engineering Consulting Office at the College of Engineering, held today, Monday, 02-26-2024, in the department’s Ibn al-Haytham Hall, the first scientific symposium for the academic year 2023-2024. Titled:

"Sustainable cities, planning, implementation and management"
The symposium was opened by welcoming the attendees and participants, hoping that the symposium would achieve its objectives and that its recommendations would be applicable on the ground after giving a brief introduction to the symposium topic.
Then, the Dean of the College gave an opening speech, wishing success in successfully completing the symposium and arriving at valuable recommendations.
The symposium, which was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Wissam Hashem Khalil, the respected consulting engineer Hamid Dhuwaib, the head of the Engineers Association /Anbar Branch, and a number of specialized engineers from various departments of the governorate, the members of the college council, the faculty members, and the students in the college, to introduce the indicators for sustainable cities through planning, implementation, and optimal management of those cities and infrastructure. Infrastructure such as green buildings, in addition to the strategic dimensions of using renewable energy and highlighting the improvement of investment project management and their impact on the sustainability of cities.
The symposium session, which was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Sarhan and its rapporteur, Dr. Omar Fakhri Muhammad The following topics: -
- City planning indicators
- Uses of renewable energy
- Sustainability of cities
- Investment projects
During which I gave valuable lectures to professors and specialized researchers from the College of Engineering and outside it. After the lectures ended, the session chair opened the floor for discussions and extensive questions were asked in which opinions and visions were exchanged between the lecturers and participants in the symposium.
 
 
 
At the conclusion of the session, the symposium commandments were read, after which certificates of appreciation were distributed to the lecturers by the Assistant President of the University and the Dean of the College to members of the Scientific and Preparatory Committees.
