College of Basic Education/ Haditha held an informative scientific conference on the phenomenon of harassment.

At the direction of the Dean of the College of Basic Education/ Haditha, Professor Mazhar Abdul Ali, the Women’s Empowerment Unit in our college organized an awareness-raising seminar on Sunday, January 14, 2024, entitled (The Phenomenon of Harassment and Its Impact on Society). This seminar was held in the presence of a group of female teachers and students in the conference and seminar hall in response to the college’s program, which stipulates the organization of activities and events aimed at guiding students on the behaviors they should adhere to in order to provide protection from any harassment they may face, whether physical, verbal, or psychological.

The seminar began with Assistant Professor Samoud Nasser Al-Din Taha welcoming all attendees, followed by her presentation on harassment, its types, and how to confront each type. Then, Assistant Professor Dunia Hashim Ibrahim gave a lecture on the reasons that drive young people to harass, including lack of religious awareness, educational level, unemployment, and others. Finally, Assistant Professor Ikram Habib Hassan concluded the seminar with a lecture on how to confront harassment.

In conclusion, a discussion and debate session was opened for the attendees to enrich what the lecturers presented on this topic and its importance. From here, the college extends its thanks and appreciation to all those who contributed and participated in this guidance workshop, asking God Almighty to guide our dear students in their academic journey.
